Redmine BCN3D IGNIS - Bug #97 (New): Inclinated engravinghttps://redmine.laoslaser.org/issues/972015-11-18T17:19:11ZBCN3D_Techlpoudelet@fundaciocim.org

I'm Louison project manager for BCN3D Ignis. We have changed our old drivers for the Leadshine M880A you sugested us. We have good results in terms of speed and acceleration but a new issue has appeared, it seems that when we are engraving the system (laos+ driver +motor +mecanical transmision ) loose a few steps the result is an inclinated work, i said system because i dont know where is the faillure happening, the increase of the microsteping ratio has an influence on the problem but it doesent correct it (in fact it hide it ).

The perfect repetability of the erraor make me think of a electrical/electronical issue because a mecanical problem would be more "random"

We are working in various possibilites :

-A lack of electrical power (the pic of power consumption and the beginig and ends of a line when engraving )

-A lack of precision of the motor

-A lack of precision of the drivers

-An issue of the data transmision between the laos and the drivers

-An internal issue of the laos

-A bad configuacion in visicut

It's a problem the we already had in the past at the begining we used toshiba TB6560 wich has this same issue we change to Pololu (DRV8825) and solve the issue that in the time we atribued to a lack of presision of the TB6560 but the recent events make me think that this suposition wasn't correct....

I'm open to any ideas that you can have in this issue
LAOS Laser - Bug #70 (New): K40 Y-stepper docs confusinghttps://redmine.laoslaser.org/issues/702013-01-08T23:19:09Ztrjtoby@hodgepig.org

I'm trying to test my K40 with LaOS by wiring up the Y stepper and using the iotest firmware.
But, the documentation for the pinout is confusing.

http://redmine.laoslaser.org/projects/laos/wiki/K40-III

Says:

Color Signal Connect to
RED XA+ J18.2 A
BLUE XA- J18.3 A
YELLOW XB+ J18.4 B
WHITE XB- J18.5 B

a) These should be YA and YB.
b) On the schematic J18.1 is YA+, J18.5 is GND.

How should it be connected?
LAOS Laser - Bug #35 (New): Web site link stylinghttps://redmine.laoslaser.org/issues/352012-08-28T09:48:20ZKallePkalle@ip.co.za

Would it be possible to make the blue links in the new wiki a bit more saturated or underlined.
I struggle to see the links in the text and have to mouse around to find out which word is the link.
There should be a global CSS file that can hopefully fix it.
LAOS Laser - Feature #23 (New): categories - navigationhttps://redmine.laoslaser.org/issues/232012-07-27T13:43:49ZKallePkalle@ip.co.za

There seems no way to add a new feature request category - Need one for hardware

Also the new Redmine is great for collaboration with multiple projects but for LaOS marketing it is a step back.
I am intimidated from trying to edit because it does not look like a wiki (and certainly not like MediaWiki that I am familiar with)
When visiting I get the feeling that I have wondered into the wrong place and am on github or source forge or something instead of a Opensource project wiki. I think making all entry links point to the first wiki page may help, people can navigate to other projects (one day) and to the forums and bug tracker but at least have some content to read instead of a subtle link to select a project they thought they were already reading about. Too many layers for my little mind and sadly it will chase away interested parties. One of the recurring complaints in the blogosphere about the reprap project has been the difficulty of finding a step by step set of instructions on what to download, what to buy and how to start building. Granted they have much more variety and it is changing fast as well. LaOS should have the most popular stuff linked on the front page for new entrants, once hooked we are all prepared to suffer but you need to sell the concept of a cheap Chinese laser with a brain transplant that allows westerners to understand it. The main host site should have a sales pitch up front with the cryptic blog entries below.

P.S. How to edit a feature request status from normal to low? (I forgot to change one of mine)
