Description

Something that is of great value to hobby, research and jobbing laser users is a test pattern.
Activated with a few button presses form the console.

A grid of boxes, in 2 dimensions one axis with laser power from 1% to 100% in 10% steps
(set with PWM or user prompts as available)
Other axis would be cutting speed in some E11 series from min to max.
Boxes could have quarter solid, quarter hatched at 75%, quarter stroked at 50% and quarter just an outline.

User interface could allow for selection of grid size to match sample material (sometimes expensive so tiny may be an option).
A repeat paten could drill down into the parameters by allowing the user to select the best box and then it
uses 2% steps around the box instead of 10% steps over the whole range.

A focus test pattern could also be implemented to optimise cutting of thick materials and for profiling the beam waist.
This could be used as a third variable in a simple pattern with speed and power.
The material library could have a focus offset for thicker materials to correct with after the mechanical focus is set.
