LaOS wiring edited
Added by leenvw over 12 years ago
Attached the renewed version of the wiring schdule I sent yesterday. I visited Pieter and concluded that everything is much easier. Als I did put in teh position of the pot's of the stepsticks X and Y "pololu". Perhaps this helps.
The laser is finding its home position. However, with visicut i was not able to cut the rectangle. Nothing reacted
Has somebody also find a solution for placing the board in the laser? i found that with teh piece of wood bart gave us , the board doesn't fit an the y-stepper cable is too short.

Did in VisiCut the rectangle appear on the screen?
If not: click 'Everything => Cut Line' in the mapping box and verify that 'Cutting' in the topleft is tacked.
Further: when you hit 'Execute", did the panel respond it was receiving the file?
Please note that the (not perfect) holes in the little wooden board are asymetric.
It did fit in Martine's cutter yesterday.
Her cable was too short too, so we extended it with 15 cms.
Cutter works now.

Aha - I missed a jumper, that might explain why PWM wasn't working!
Will try that in one of the next few days. Thanks!

This jumper was also not placed by Pieter Bos. I don't what this is for. However, i'm curious on your findings.

I've created a wiki page with the combination of things most of the "July 2012 maker monkeys" seem to have, see HPC LS3020 connections - July 2012.
Feel free to edit/fix/extend that page (or any other page on the wiki). Don't be shy. You can do it!

Hi Bart,
thanks for your response.
I followed your checks: rectangle appears, 'everything -> cutline' 'cutting' selected
after 'execute' left under i see the file is being send. Then i got a window to check the cover is closed, etc. thani selected ok.
furthermore i got the message that the file was sent and a file name: i.e. visicut18. However, when checking the SD card at mij PC, no file can be found.
with the i2c, the laser can be moved. i checked the laserlight itself and is working.
summarized, i'm still puzzling ...

Does a ip number show up on the display (you kan also step to it with the joystick)
And do you have that in de machine config of visicut ??
Edit -> Advanced -> Manage Lasercutters
and select the laos profile
Edit
And you should something like the screenshot

The ip is ok. see file attached.
on the i2c, i see two files: fseven1 and spotli1. Don't know what this is. do you have a clue?
when yo did execute a cut job, are you able to find back the file on teh sd card?
RE: LaOS wiring edited - Added by Anonymous over 12 years ago
The I2C display shows all "print jobs", click down on the joystick the start cutting the current one showing. The name is generated by VisiCut, based on the SVG input file given to it.

i'm afraid here something is going wrong. visicut gives a message file has been sent "visicut19", but can't find it on the i2c in the start job menu.
with the mac, visicut, all seems ok. i've got a message 'sending' left under. than a window to ensure the laser is ready and ok.

I think i've got the issue. I'm getting lost with the IP addresses. I'v just copied the config file in the MBED. But I have no idea how to deal with the IP adresses and connection to the eternet cable.
Can somebody tell me step by step how to do this. This is totally new for me.
