height adjustment

Hi folks,

we're having trouble focusing our K40. We can't do it by software since the K40 we got has a 220V AC motor that, when used, completely trashes the electronics either freezing it or resetting it.

Are there ppl. here who converted their laser's Z-axis to a stepper motor? and what challenges are there?
