Engrave from Visicut slow

Hi,
trying to execute any large engraving job, "3d" or not, takes a LONG time. 3d especially so. It buffers for ages, and sending it to LAOS afterwards is pretty hopeless.
Is this just me? Any tips? I realize this forum is not about VisiCut, but I hope someone can help with it...
When I say long, I mean that a 20x20cm 3d engrave will buffer for several minutes and send so long that I am unsure if it is even still running or if it crashed.

Actually, it appears that VisiCut hangs entirely on larger 3d engrave jobs while buffering. At least the one I started 20 minutes ago hasn't moved in a while.
