Connecting HX3040
Added by arc310 almost 11 years ago
Hi,
I'm connecting my freshly soldered Laos board to a Rabbit HX3040 (I think it is the same as LS3040 from HPC)
- X and Y axis
The original board has a jst socket for X-motor, and a flat cable for Y-motor and zero.
It seem that Laos has it reversed : flat cable for X-motor and stop and jst for Y-motor.
If I use the Laos connexions, will the software cope with the swapped X and Y axis ?

- power
I checked the voltages on the 6 pin connector, and found 0V 24V x 5V x and 0V.
The two "x" are connected together on the pcb, and to a lead on the connector to "laser switch" button on the control panel.
? I don't know what to do with these "x" pins ?
- J8 connector
(J8 of the old board, not Laos)
3 wires there, one to a switch (to choose from automatic or potentiometer control), another to the potentiometer on the panel and a third to a "P" contact on the black power supply.
? What is this "P" ?
BTW the contacts on the two connectors of the black PS are : H L P G IN 5V and then AC AC FG (H and FG not connected)
Thanks !

About swapping X and Y: this involves switching the pins in the firmware and compiling it yourself. The pin definitions are hardcoded in LaosMotion.cpp
Power conn: I think connecting the two X pins will tell the board to do a laser fire test. You can leave them unconnected.
J8: I guess that is laser power? It should probably be connected to the laser PWM output of the new board.
