Y-axis does not react.

Added by arjan over 10 years ago

I got my rev4 board with LCD today from Jaap and connected the cables to my HPC 3020 with flatcable. When I start the machine and try to move with the joystick, X axis works, but Y axis I see the numbers changing but nothing is happening. What could be the problem?

Sure you connected the Y-axis to the proper connector? It has it's own cable with a JST plug on it.

If you move the head to the middle (with machine turned off), does the y-axis home when you power up?

It first homes X. No movement in Y. But it hits the border on the right and I reversed the endstop direction, but is also does not find and endstop on the left.

So homing does nog show Y movement. Are the X and Y axis in the flatcable? I only unplugged the board in the front side of the machine. Dont know I I have to open the aluminium shiny casing on the bottom with its print?

This is the print

You're missing the Y cable! It's not in the flatcable.

Y-axis connected and config file editted. Homing is ok now, manually moving is ok. So ready to use.

On the Wiki page the instructions for the cups driver in Windows is missing. Can I use this? Visicut job sending works. Is there any way to work relative? So position the laser on the topleft of the material?

The windows version of the printer driver is very outdated (seems nobody uses Windows?). The linux and mac version should work, but most people use Visicut I guess.
