The BOM lists all recommended components. You will need to modify this list to suit your needs. Common choices:
16 10 Anonymous
17
* Connector types. The HPC laser uses JST connectors. Our reference design uses Phoenix connectors, they are nice but not cheap. You may omit connectors for functions you do not require.
18
* The 7805 voltage regulator (U3) is not needed if you have a stable 5V power supply.
19
* The pololu steppers (J8,J17,J23,J32) can be omitted if you use external steppers.
20
* The TIP110 (or equivalent) transistors (Q1,Q2) and associated components can be omitted if you do not want to switch external 24V loads.
21
* The CAN bus transceiver (U1) and associated components can be omitted, as the CAN bus is not in use by the firmware yet.
22
* The USB connector can be omitted. USB file systems are not implemented yet in the firmware yet.
23
* R2 and R3 can be omitted if you use an Ethernet connector without LEDs (one would suffice, as they both just connect to the power supply).
24
25
The Ethernet connection and the SD card are essential parts of this design.

_Note_ - You need to modify the cables a bit to connect to the correct pins, see description in the [[Installation_HPC|HPC installation section]]. Connectors may have significant minimum order quantity. You may ask Peter if he has some he can supply when ordering the PCB.

109 13 david
If your laser does not have a good 5V power supply built-in, you can add this 7805 power regulator. Note that it will get very hot if you feed it a high voltage. Anything between 7 and 12 volt should be ok. You can use a left-over power adapter to power the board.
