Swapping X and Y axis : what about engraving ?
Added by arc310 almost 11 years ago
Hi,
On my Hx3040, Y is the "fast" axis.
Is there a way to scan using Y axis instead of X for engraving ?
Thanks

Hi Arc,
Does it work when you increase the y.speed and y.accel?

No, I tried y.speed 2000 and y.accel 2000 (I had no y.accel in the config.txt before), still the head moves left/right instead of up/down.
Is there a part of the firmware that compares x.speed and y.speed to choose which axis is the best for engraving ?
On the NewlyDraw software, one could choose between up/down and left/right.
I thought it would be a job for Visicut, not for the firmware ?
Thanks for your help

It's not in the firmware. Engraving direction is defined in the printer driver and Visicut. At the moment, you cannot change it (unless you edit the software).
