Dual assist line laser mount for K40

Added by joostn about 10 years ago

Not related to LAOS, but people here may be interested:

I've made a bracket with ball joints for mounting two line projecting lasers in my chinese laser cutter.
After adjustment the intersection of the two lines is independent of the object height, so it always matches the cutting beam.
Design (for 3d printing) is here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:445354

Hi.

I reply to me. I found one in DX.com.

Only 3.87 usd is good, now i need to make a similar mount without 3d printing.

Also i will try to found any that can work at 12V for connect to Led light PSU, if not i will use a cheap dc to dc adapter.

Hi,

i would just use 2 laserpointers with a dot, this has the benefit, that only if the two dots are at the same point, you know, you are in the focus. But unfortunately, I got two left hands ;)

Acubino: yes that looks exactly like my laser pointer

And I've actually been wondering where should I focus when cutting through 5mm material, at the surface or a bit below?

I would suggest at 2.5mm below the surface, this evens out the hour glass affect of the laser focusing
